I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Ate here for my birthday and NYE. On your b day you get a FREE dessert and the chocolate one is to die for. Ambiance, drinks, service, and food are all top notch. You definitely get what you pay for here.

We had dinner here the first night of our stay. The steaks were not bad but the over all service and value was lack luster. The sides came out after the meal was mostly eaten and the wait was forever which seemed odd since the place was not all that busy. The Brew Pubs food was just as good, with faster service and much better prices and that was during the Badgers final four game - the place was packed! Go there instead.

We went to to Double Cut for our 14th wedding anniversary last night. The restaurant was very nice. Elegant and modern. We were greeted at the door by the hostess and she said Happy Anniversary right away. Impressive. We sat near the fireplace. Elegant room and tables. I ordered the wedge salad which was the best I ever had. I ordered the ribeye. Very tender and cooked to perfection. Better than the best steak houses in Chicago. My wife had prime rib. She loved it. Our server Matt did an incredible job serving our table. Very informative and attentive. He did everything he can to make our night perfect. Thanks Matt. Also the manager came by and asked us how was everything and if we needed anything. Nice touch of service. Can't compliment this place enough. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Where do I start? Probably one of the most disappointing meals for the price that I have ever had. I gave one star for the key lime pie. We went straight from a bike ride at one of the state parks nearby so we were in our biking gear but were ready for a decent meal. We tried to order not one, but two different bottles of wine on their wine list but were told they were out of both and were working on updating their wine list...so we got our third choice. It took over 10 minutes to get our bottle of wine and it was not even close to being busy. After ordering, we did not see out waitress until one of us was almost done with our meal. Since the medium rare steak that we ordered was pretty much grey with a little bit of pink in the middle, not seeing our waitress for that long was a big deal. If someone had checked on us sooner, we could have had the problem fixed in time to eat it. When our server finally came, we told her about the steak and it was shrugged off and we were asked if we wanted to wrap it up and see the dessert menu. After another 10 minutes of not getting the dessert menu, we told her not to worry about the menu, we just wanted a piece of the key lime pie that we heard about. Key lime pie was delicious! Even after complaining about a filet oscar style and being there another half an hour waiting for dessert, there was no apology. Our complaint and disappointment were acknowledged by no one.

A real treasure here in the Dells. Look, you traditionally come to the Dells and you know to lower your expectations for dining options if you're from a big city. No. Longer. This place is awesome! Great staff, very cool modern ambience and good quality food! Finally! The wine list was plentiful and our steaks were the best we've had in the Dells by a looooooong shot. I will be back! Great job Double Cut!

Spent the entire day at the pool with my kids (9-5) So wifey was beat and decided to just stay in with our 5 month old. So myself and my 3 year old walked across the parking lot into this very posh steak house. The bar area was great as they had numerous tv's and I was able to watch the Pga at whistling straights. Normally I would have watched the entire tournament but we decided on a short lil vaca that weekend. It was about 530 when we arrived and we just sat at the bar and ordered the following. -kiddie cocktail - The Clint Eastwood for dad (obviously) actually had a couple.. :) -Bone in Rib Eye (medium rare charred with a bit of melted blue cheese) -lobster bisque - steak fries It was pretty much a home run, and we will actually be celebrating thanksgiving here this year as well. The only change I'd make is the steak fries, they were a bit obnoxious. I prefer a more thin style, but other than that it was excellent. My 3 year old has good taste..

Must say, I am shocked by some of the bad reviews of Double Cut. This is easily one of the best steak houses I've ever dined at and I've been to plenty. First off, I have to compliment whoever their interior decorated is/was. He/She did an outstanding job of decorating the entire restaurant including the bathrooms which have towels for drying your hands instead of paper towels! The two fire places were great additions to an already over the top elegant restaurant. Also, I have to tip my imaginary hat off to the valet. My boyfriend and I dinned here on Valentines Day and he was the only person working valet. Please note that it was 2 degrees outside. He was a total trooper! Hope he was tipped well that night. As to be expected, my boyfriend and I ordered steaks, NY Strip to be exact, 12oz. The steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The tenderness and juices worked well for the pallet. We also ordered sides. They have a this great deal where you pick 3 sides for $25. We were not expecting the portions to be nearly as large as they were. The sides along were meals themselves. Lobster Mac N Cheese was superb. I actually do not like lobster but flavor from the lobster in combination with the cheese was wonderful. The steak fries were the large fries I've ever seen. Potato wedges is a better name for them. Seasoned very well and weren't over cooked. The last side was garden veggies which consisted of green onions, tri-peppers, brussel sprouts, zucchini and asparagus which were all chard grilled. The veggies were good but I do feel that they were slightly over chard. All of the sides were impossible to eat in one sitting. I noticed while waiting for our table to be open that everyone walked out with a to-go bag. You shortly will learn why that is. Portion sizes are just out of this world. You pay for what you get. While they are definitely expensive, that is to be expected considering they are a steak house. A very nice one at that. What an amazing night and experience dinning at Double Cut.

We enjoyed a holiday dinner there yesterday evening with four children in tow ages infant to eight years old and despite the fancy ambiance they were able to accommodate us just fine as they sequestered families with children towards the back of the otherwise beautiful restaurant. The food was generally good with the lobster mac and cheese a winner. The prime rib was perfect but the porterhouse we ordered was a little more medium well than medium rare as we had requested. The steak fries were a little crude but nevertheless cooked very well. The calamari came our way too quickly and was half shrimp. The kids were a little disappointed as they were expecting French fries. The lobster Cobb and oyster shooter weren't anything to write home about, but they weren't bad either. The pop overs were unique but not altogether memorable and the kids didn't enjoy it much either. We had the Cherries jubilee and cake for dessert and both were a tad underwhelming having Kaminski Brothers ice cream sundae and loaded mashed potatoes to compare to. Altogether it wasn't a bad experience but there were some hits and misses. The miss on cooking the meat loses a star.

Although this restaurant is technically located in a resort, this is not your average resort restaurant. The service, ambiance, and food were all spectacular! Sure, this is more expensive than your average Dells establishment, but I'd rather pay a little extra for top notch food and experience over frozen fast food any day. As a tip, they put the menu outside the restaurants and it's online, so before you come with a table of 15, sit down, then decide to walk out because it's too expensive for you, check prices. There were many people walking out of the restaurant and it's a shame because it's fantastic. Although one of our steaks was a little crisp on the top, the filet, crab legs, and porterhouse were wonderful. The banana fosters desert is a MUST. By far, one of the greatest desserts I've ever had.

We decided to dine here for my father's birthday and despite the mixed reviews, the experieince my family and I had here deserves 5 stars. First off, the resturant itself is beautiful and has such a luxurious 'feel'. When we ordered, we asked our waitress if they could make some changes to the dish we wanted and they were accommodating and very flexible. We got the iced shellfish tower, prime rib, calamari, and 3 selections of sides. We all agreed that everything we ordered was delicious, and that's saying a lot since my parents are very picky eaters. Overall, based on our dining experience, I suggest to all who read these reviews to try out this resturant.

The food was very good but expensive. Everything is a la carte. Steak prices are $30-$60. They do serve the (sides) family style. The service was excellent. The restaurant is very nicely decorated.

I was staying in town for business and ended up at Double Cut, hoping for a nice meal. I wasn't disappointed! This is an upscale steakhouse that serves quality food, and all of it was delicious. The decor is very modern - low lights, intimate seating areas, big leather booths for large groups. The cocktail menu was creative, the wine list was extensive, and the salads and shareable sides were delicious. My only reason for knocking this review down to four stars is because my filet was overcooked. I firmly believe that a steakhouse should be able to get your temperature preference just right, and was disappointed when my filet was served with very little pink, instead of medium rare as requested. Because of that, it was a bit tough. Overall, the food was delicious. I would recommend the bernaise, the creamed spinach, and the steak fries. The caesar salad was huge - a head of romaine, along with a hard boiled egg and home made dressing made for a clean start to the meal. All very good. As for the steak, I might stick to a NY strip next time to ensure it's cooked the right way.

Clint Eastwood is a badass. This cocktail mirrors his personification to a tee... Refined and subtle, almost brings a tear to your eye. A definite reminder of an era way back in the rear view mirror - unsophisticated, strong and simple. Came to town for a convention and sought this place out, worth it for the ambience and libation. Didn't indulge in the menu, but the liquor bar will bring me back. Thanks for naming a cocktail after Clint in a town where Paul Bunyan reigns supreme.

Wow I am not sure what to say on this one. Disappointing, ordinary less than impressive? Had medium to high hopes and they fell short. Expensive only because the food was an epic fail. Living in Chicago I've paid $125 for a steak and liked it; here it was $75 and ( "hurl" ) burnt and flavorless. Not a good sign for a medium rare steak so, bad I sent it back. 2nd try? Nope....same. I am cooking magician but I can do a $7.00 steak on my $50.00 webber and get it right! ( or at least edible). Place looks nice; classy, calm and professional. So how do you fix bad food????? Anyone, anyone, Bueller? GOOD ATTENTIVE PROFESSIONAL SERVICE. Yeah never actually seen my wife so pissed off at the bad service she didn't tip! Wow

So nice they finally put a high quality restarant in the Kalahari for those who want some upscale dining. While this may not be a Vegas level dining experience, the atmosphere and food beats the heck out of other options in this resort area. Steaks were cooked to perfection for our 10 person party, and the seafood was nicely prepared. Service and attitudes of the staff were exceptional and make you want to come back again.

What an awful disappointment. I should have guessed when I sat down to a place sitting with two dinner forks instead of a salad or seafood fork that this place does not know how to serve a quality meal. My husband and I came here for an anniversary dinner. We thought it would be the best option in the Dells for an upscale, classy meal. We probably would have been more satisfied at one of the National chains in the area. The biggest issue is that the restaurant totally ignored the fact that my husband has a soy allergy. How can a restaurant charge $15+ for an appetizer and $30-$60 per entree and fail to address a serious food allergy? We told the waitress about the allergy, ordered, and the waitress said she would talk to the chef and make sure our meal was properly prepared. When our beef carpaccio arrived, it was covered in mayo slathered piece of "lobster." Most commercial mayo is made with soybean oil. The waitress couldn't confirm if the product was mayo to begin with, let alone if it was made with soybean oil. We asked her to check and sat there for 20 minutes (in a mostly empty restaurant). She came back to confirm the lobster salad was made with mayonnaise. Ok, thanks, so is there soybean oil in it? Blank stare. Needless to say, my husband didn't eat it. He didn't miss out on much because it was the worst beef carpaccio I've ever tried. We were not offered a different appetizer or the item to be removed from our check. Hubby decided to try something as safe as possible - seared scallops. They were hardly seared and very bland. I ordered prime rib. My medium order arrived well done. I cut about 4 of my 12 ounces off because it was hugely fatty. The turnover that came with the meat was soggy. We also ordered a side of grilled veggies. The portion was generous but there was no seasoning on them. Both of us ate very little since the food was so bad. The waitress didn't ask us about our food, no manager checked on us, so we didn't want to ruin our anniversary by complaining. This place wants to pretend it has good food, but it's just a ruse. Just go across the street and eat a huge pile of ribs at Famous Daves. You'll pay 1/4 of the price and at least leave with a full belly.

Atmosphere was very nice. Beautiful gas fireplaces, tables, booths. Food itself was great. Loved the beef carpaccio (could have a little bigger chunks of lobster with it), black pepper calamari, and tuna tartare appetizers. Cuts of steak (ribeye and prime rib) were generous and delicious. Very well-cooked, great flavor. Sides were delicious -- grilled asparagus, brussels sprouts with bacon and blue cheese, lobster mac and cheese (which did have large chunks of lobster), Maker's Mark mushrooms. Best of all for us was the service. We had originally planned a large family reunion, and they allowed up use their Board Room without the usual minimal charge that night. Something happened where a lot of our group couldn't make it, but they still allowed us to use the room with only 12 people! Our waiter Brandon was friendly and helpful, giving great recommendations, and the manager Ben came by several times to check in on us. Overall, a wonderful experience from beginning to end. We'll definitely be back!

There is no value here,,at all. It's the dells, not down town Chicago , Way to expensive for what you gat and where you get it, It wouldn't be so bad if you didn't feel like you got bent over. Cool place but I have to say pass,,,

I have lamented in the past about the lack of dining options in the dells, the tide seems to be turning however and I think resorts and restaurateurs are starting to realize that there is a market for nicer food in the Dells. last year I tried Double Cut. While there were some issues, neither were related to service or the food and the vibe was more Vegas or Chicago than tourist trap. My first gripe is that the place is expensive. Way more expensive than it should be for the food you get. I have no issue paying for quality food. However this food is priced around $10 more per entree than it should be. For example I had a petite ribeye. It was cooked perfectly and tasted very good. It did not taste $39 dollars with no sides good. The lobster stuffed rainbow trout was also priced about 10 bucks above where it deserved to be. I would have gladly paid the 30 dollars if it had a starch and veggie but it was just the fish. It was cooked perfectly and there was a decent amount of lobster in the stuffing. As I mentioned the sides were extra. The grilled asparagus was great. Perfectly grilled with some hollandaise sauce. The steak frites were not what I expected. When I think of frites I think of the double-fried thin cut fries served at French and Belgian restaurants. These were steak cut fries "fried 3 times." Third time wasn't a charm as they were actually almost too crispy. They were ok, but maybe double frying would yield better results. The service was perfect. Attentive, not overbearing, and very friendly. What I didn't like was the constant movement of carts full of dirty dishes by our table. The tables in the back room are pretty tight together so they were practically rubbing against my seat. It seems when designing a new restaurant they could minimize this but it was pretty distracting and took away from the ambiance of a so-called high end restaurant. So in summary its a mixed bag. Its a nice place to eat with good food in what is generally a cesspool of mediocrity with regard to restaurants. You however will pay a premium for it.

We had dinner here during a recent trip to the Dells for a family vacation. The food here is very good. I had the bacon wrapped Scallops (how can you go wrong with anything bacon wrapped?). They were excellent. My wife had a filet which was excellent as well. We started with the crab cakes, which were meaty and delicious. The lobster bisque soup has large pieces of lobster and is very good as well. We also had the mushrooms and spinach for sides. Both were good. Nice wine list with one of my California favorites (Justin). The only reason I'm rating this a 4 vs. 5 is that the Service was just OK. My nephew's steak came out Well Done instead of Medium, which is a major miss for a Steak House. It took them nearly 20 minutes to get him a new steak. They did comp the steak and paid for dessert to make up for it. Which was a very nice gesture. But the damage was done. We'll be back.

Went there for a work Christmas party. Dennis were top notch and the food was awesome. sides are served family style which i wasn't too excited about, but the portion were sized appropriately. I ordered blackened salon since everyone was ordering steak. the portion size was pretty uninspiring, but it was cooked well. everyone seemed to enjoy their meal.

Came here while vacationing at Kalahari and I must say, the environment was very nice. The cut of steaks my husband and I had looked awesome, however they didn't have much seasoning whatsoever. I ordered the 20oz ribeye and it was dry. I've had better steaks at Longhorn. Our service was great - Brandon was his name HOWEVER he charged me $413 for our meal and it certainly was NOT our tab. I was furious!! Although he reversed the transaction and apologized that $413 is still pending on my account and will not be released until the next couple business days. I wanted to talk to the manager and he (Adam) spoke to me as if I was stupid - telling me that my card does have the funds available - you idiot, no it doesn't! He argued me down, but I wasn't standing for him disrespecting me in my face. Needless to say, we WILL NOT be back - but I will say the short rib tacos (starters) was phenomenal! I gave this review an extra star because of it!

Sooooo, this relatively new steakhouse in town has a super chic upscale vibe and the service was very attentive and informative. Although their Cosmo was weak, the wine was good. My husband ordered the 12 oz prime rib (everything is a la carte, unless otherwise specified) with a side of steamed broccoli. Unfortunately his prime rib had quite a bit of fat on it. I ordered the WI pistachio crusted Walleye which was very tasty, but a portion of it was way overdone. When the bill arrived, they mistakenly added a bottle of wine & some other spirit that we did not order, but was promptly taken off the bill with a forthright apology. All in all, this could be a diamond in the rough, but I hope they improve on the quality of their product to match their pricing.

I had a porterhouse and the wife went with a fillet butterflied. Amazing. The steaks were spot on and delicious. The asparagus was also spot on and you could eat it down to the stem with no gritty shell. The baked potato with all dressings bacon sour cream and cheese we saved for the room. We knocked it out the next day for lunch it was like a 1 lb baked potato. It was so good we went back the next day for dinner and canceled our reservation at another place. My daughter ended up having the pasta which was decent but hey its a steakhouse so I didn't expect much. $120 plus tip out the door no drinks just sodas. The servers were very respectful and catered to our needs. I hope you enjoy this one its a winner!

We have been to Double Cut's competition - the Chop House - and thought we'd try this place. Well, that was a mistake. The atmosphere and staff at Double Cut was a big disappointment. It took three people stumbling over themselves before we were greeted and finally seated - even though the place was almost empty. Our server could have used some more training. He was nice, but overly friendly and just a bit "too much" for the type of experience this restaurant should have been. I guess I expected someone "more reserved". We came here because we wanted a fancier outing for a celebration, but we were the only ones dressed in nice clothes. Everyone else around us had on flip flops, shorts, Harley Davidson t-shirts, or hoodies. For the prices you pay here, I seriously expected more. No coat room. To top it off, when they seat you, they ask "would you like a booth or a table?" That caught me off guard and thought maybe they had fancy booths that would let you sit next to each other. Nope. It's basically like walking into Dennys and having them ask you - "booth or table." After spending $200 for the two of us to eat dinner, we came home deflated and disappointed. Next time we decide to splurge, we'll be going back to Chop House because Double Cut simply isn't worth it. There's nothing special here and it's not worth the money.
